The SQUAIR monitor is available in two variants โ€” SQUAIR Lite and SQUAIR Basic. Both share the same compact 12 x 12 x 3 cm form factor, 12V DC power supply, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz connectivity, Hue Light system, AQI.IN mobile app, and cloud data logging. The differences lie in the on-device display, the number of parameters measured, and the connectivity options available.

SQUAIR Lite measures seven parameters: PM1, PM2.5, PM10, CO2, TVOCs, Temperature, and Humidity. It connects via Wi-Fi only and has no on-device display โ€” data is viewed through the AQI app, web dashboard, or TV app. SQUAIR Basic measures eight parameters: everything in Lite plus Formaldehyde (HCHO). It also adds a built-in Smart Display that shows live AQI readings directly on the device, and supports RS-485 (MODBUS RTU) wired connectivity for integration with Building Management Systems (BMS).

Yes. SQUAIR Basic has a built-in Smart Display that shows real-time AQI and parameter readings on the device face โ€” so occupants can check air quality without opening an app. SQUAIR Lite has no screen; all data is accessed through the AQI mobile app (aqi.app), web dashboard (aqi.in), or TV application (aqi.tv).

Only the SQUAIR Basic measures formaldehyde. It uses an Electrochemical sensor with a range of 0 to 2 ppm, a resolution of 0.01 ppb, and an accuracy of +/-3%. Formaldehyde is commonly off-gassed from MDF furniture, plywood, carpets, adhesives, and paints โ€” making HCHO monitoring especially important in newly built or renovated spaces, schools, and hospitals.

SQUAIR Lite is the right choice if you need a simple, app-connected monitor for a home, small office, cafe, or co-working space. It covers all critical IAQ parameters, is fully LEED, WELL, and ASHRAE 62.1 compliant, and requires no wired BMS integration. It is also the better fit if you prefer a display-free device that blends unobtrusively into the room.

SQUAIR Basic is the right choice if your building uses a BMS and requires RS-485/MODBUS integration, if the space has a higher risk of formaldehyde exposure (new construction, MDF-heavy interiors, or hospital environments), or if you need an on-device display for lobbies, reception areas, or wards where visitors need to read air quality at a glance. It is the recommended variant for WELL v2 certification projects that include formaldehyde monitoring requirements.

Yes. Both variants measure 12 x 12 x 3 cm, weigh 227 grams, use ABS plastic housing, and run on 12V DC power. Both support wall and ceiling mounting and come with the device, cable, and mounting screws in the box. The operating range is -10ยฐC to 60ยฐC and 0 to 95% RH for both.

SQUAIR uses a 90-degree Light Scattering (laser-based optical) sensor to measure all three particulate fractions simultaneously. It detects particles by analyzing how they scatter laser light at a 90-degree angle. The measurement range is 0 to 999 ug/m3 with a resolution of 1 ug/m3. Accuracy is +/-10% for concentrations up to 150 ug/m3 and +/-15% above that threshold.

SQUAIR uses an NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) sensor for CO2 measurement โ€” the gold standard for indoor CO2 detection. The range is 0 to 5,000 ppm with a 1 ppm resolution and an accuracy of +/-3% or +/-50 ppm, whichever is greater. This makes it well-suited for detecting ventilation issues in classrooms, meeting rooms, and offices where elevated CO2 commonly causes fatigue and reduced focus.

TVOCs are measured using a MEMS (Micro-Electromechanical Systems) gas sensor with a detection range of 0 to 65 ppm, a resolution of 10 ppb, and an accuracy of +/-3%. This level of sensitivity is sufficient to detect off-gassing from furniture, cleaning products, paints, and personal care products โ€” the most common sources of TVOC pollution in indoor environments.

Temperature is measured using an RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor covering -40ยฐC to 70ยฐC, with a resolution of 0.1ยฐC and an accuracy of +/-0.3ยฐC. Relative humidity is measured with a Capacitive sensor covering 0 to 100% RH, with a resolution of 0.1% RH and an accuracy of +/-2% RH.

SQUAIR Lite connects via Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz only. SQUAIR Basic supports both Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and RS-485 (MODBUS RTU) wired communication. RS-485 makes the Basic compatible with Building Management Systems (BMS), industrial control panels, and smart building infrastructure without relying on wireless connectivity.

Yes, but only through the SQUAIR Basic. Its RS-485 MODBUS RTU interface allows it to communicate directly with BMS platforms using industry-standard wired protocols. SQUAIR Lite does not support RS-485 and cannot integrate with BMS networks.

SQUAIR monitor data is accessible across four platforms: the AQI.IN Mobile App for iOS and Android with real-time readings and push alerts; the AQI.IN Web Dashboard (aqi.in) for full device management and historical analysis; the AQI TV App (aqi.tv) for large-screen display in lobbies or control rooms; and Digital Signage outputs for public-facing displays in hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings.

Yes. The AQI web dashboard includes a Link Generation feature that creates a secure, shareable URL giving anyone live access to your monitor's data โ€” no login required. Each device can also generate a QR code that others can scan to view real-time readings instantly on their phone or browser.

Historical air quality data can be exported from the AQI web dashboard in CSV, Excel, and PDF formats. Exports can be generated on demand or scheduled for periodic automated reporting. Data can also be filtered by individual parameter before exporting, which is useful for LEED/WELL compliance audits or targeted pollution analysis.

Yes. Both SQUAIR variants meet the sensor type and measurement range requirements for three major IAQ certification frameworks. WELL v2 (A01) requires PM2.5 of 15 ug/m3 or less and CO2 of 1,000 ppm or less. WELL v2 (A05) requires PM2.5 of 10 ug/m3 or less and CO2 of 800 ppm or less. LEED v4.1 requires PM2.5 of 15 ug/m3 or less with CO2 monitored and alerted above 1,000 ppm. ASHRAE 62.1 sets CO2 at approximately 1,100 ppm above outdoor baseline. SQUAIR's laser PM sensor and NDIR CO2 sensor are the qualifying sensor types specified by these standards.

Yes. WELL v2 includes formaldehyde as part of its Air Quality requirements. SQUAIR Basic's Electrochemical HCHO sensor โ€” with a resolution of 0.01 ppb and accuracy of +/-3% โ€” provides the sensitivity needed for meaningful compliance monitoring. For projects that only require PM2.5 and CO2 tracking under LEED v4.1 or ASHRAE 62.1, SQUAIR Lite is sufficient.

The SQUAIR monitor comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase. This covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. Both SQUAIR Lite and SQUAIR Basic are covered under the same warranty terms.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and hardware faults that arise under normal operating conditions. It does not cover physical damage caused by mishandling, improper installation, exposure beyond the rated operating limits (-10ยฐC to 60ยฐC, 0 to 95% RH), or unauthorized modifications to the device.
